The Nébih Education Programme has had a successful school year, launching its first national ambassador programme for the 2021/2022 school year. Thanks to the programme, more than 1000 kindergarten, primary and secondary school students were taught basic food safety rules and food waste awareness this school year. Although the vacation has already begun, the Education Programme does not take a summer break: the Wasteless programme is launching a food waste drawing competition for primary school children, with a bicycle as the main prize in each category.
Nébih’s Education Programme is targeting the consumers of the future, with the addition of an Ambassador Programme in 2021. Thanks to the 50 or so teachers who submitted applications, more than 1000 kindergarten, primary and secondary school children have been introduced to Nébih’s educational literature this school year, through lectures, play activities, field trips and creative games.
Although the vacation has already begun, the Education Programme does not take a summer break. Wasteless programme is launching a drawing competition for primary school children, which aims to teach children about food waste, its impact on the environment and how to prevent it, in addition to providing a useful summer pastime. In addition the winners chosen by a professional jury, the public’s favourites and the most active educational institution will also be rewarded.
Wasteless team has also put together some ideas for family activities. The summer holidays are a great opportunity for children to get closer to food, learn about the journey it takes and the value of the food they put on the table at home. And teachers are not forgotten by the Education Programme during the vacation. Organisers of summer camps can register for Nébih’s food safety and food waste sessions at oktatas@nebih.gov.hu.
