This year, Wasteless is joining Galgamenti Népfőiskola and Humusz Szövetség as a co-organiser of the Compost Festival. The call, with the activities related to composting, is open for educational institutes and civil societies. The main message of this year’s call is that food waste through composting may be recycled to the ecological systems, thus reducing the harmful impact on the environment.
This is the 11th occasion, when Galgamenti Népfőiskola and Humusz Szövetség open their call related to Compost festival. This year Nébih is the co-organiser of the event, that will be held on 10 October.
Food waste prevention is in the focus of the 2021 call. The slogan – Food, vital element – of the Compost festival refers to the fact that a significant part of food waste may be recycled to the ecological systems through composting, thus serving nutrients for the plants.
The call, aiming activities related to composting, is open for educational institutes and civil societies. The organisers offer thought- and activity-provoking ideas for different age groups, for example compost-BINGO, earthworm diet, food waste inventory. The plans can be implemented by mid-November on a one-day, one-week or multi-week basis in nursery and kindergarten groups, primary and secondary school classes, and in communities such as garden communities and compost centres.
The best ideas will be presented here on the website. Winners in each category will be awarded with an awareness-raising gift pack and a compost bin.
