The Green National Meeting was held in a picturesque setting in Nagykovácsi from May 24-26, 2024. This multi-day event offered participants the opportunity to attend professional lectures, workshops and thematic programs focused on sustainabilty and environmental education.
We prepared a variety of activities for both children and adults for the program. Children enjoyed various puzzles and activity sheets, while adults enthusiastically participated in the green quiz wheel of fortune and the “What does not belong in the fridge?” challenge.
We met and built relationships with numerous civil organizations that are also dedicated to sustainability and environmental education. Through the conversations, we gained deeper insights into the lives of the locals, including the activities of the Association for Protection of Nature and Environment of Nagykovácsi. It also turned out that the delicious food served at the three-day event was made from ingredients grown in the local Kasvirág Community Garden.
With our educational leaflets and our cookbook “The Second Life of Bread” we drew the attention of nearly 200 participants to the complexity of food waste and the possibilities for reducing it. We were pleased to see that most people were aware of the issue of food waste and sought professional advice on how to reduce it.
Thank you for the invitation! It was wonderful to spend the day with you!
