The latest conference of the European Union Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste was held on June 18-19, 2024, in Veghel, Netherlands, with Dr. Gyula Kasza attending as a representative of the Hungarian food waste prevention program. Through the Project Wasteless, Hungary has been an active participant of the Platform for several years.

Government representatives, scientific organizations and civil society actors attending the conference shared a common objective: to halve food waste in the European Union by 2030. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for over 370 representatives from 33 EU and non-EU countries to meet and express their commitment to reducing food waste.

During the event, it was also announced that an international conference will be held in Budapest on October 1, 2024, focusing on the topic of halving food waste.
