On a hot early summer day Team Wasteless conquered a small town in the Great Hungarian Plain.
Although this semester is over, food wastage is still an urgent problem, thus we try to seize every opportunity to continue our awareness raising activity. Such opportunity was our lesson in Ballószög. We received an invitation from the small town located near to Kecskemét, which we accepted with a great pleasure. A thematic week called ’Learning is fun’ was organised in Kossuth Lajos Elementary School, which focused on environment protection and conscious consumer behaviour. The lessons of Wasteless on food waste prevention were held on Tuesday.
Almost 75 students took part in two lessons. Despite of the hot weather they were very active. After introducing the theoretical background we tested their acquired knowledge with a quiz and also with group games.
It was a pleasure for us, that the organizers had chosen our awareness raising program in connection with food wastage as a main element of the camp.
The teachers are waiting for a new lesson in autumn.
