Donation of surplus food: Half a ton of food have been saved from COVID food reserves

 

The COVID-19 epidemic has been resulted in the hoarding of food reserves in many households. For this reason the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) and the Hungarian Food Bank Association has established a possibility for the public for donation of the surplus food. During the action 576 kg of durable food have been collected and saved from waste. The collected non-perishable food have been distributed to those in need by the Food Bank’s partner organizations.

In the picture Gyula Kasza, the head of the Wasteless programme is handing over to Balázs Cseh, the president of the Hungarian Food Bank Association the donated food, which was recieved in the collecting point of National Food Chain Safety Office.
