We reached a record number of students during the 2025 Hungarian Sustainability Week!

Like in the past, Nébih’s Education and Wasteless programmes were delighted to join the 2025 Sustainability Week. At the end of the week, we were pleased to discover that this year, we reached a record number of 1,140 students just over the five days!

We held 31 sessions across the country in rural schools, festivals, and in our central office in Budapest. This made it possible to present the programme from the youngest elementary to the older university students and reach 83 teachers in person.

For the Week, we developed a new, interactive curriculum „Cooking & baking wasteless” which was a great success based on the feedback from both students and teachers! During the 45-minute classes, the students were able to learn about food safety rules, conscious planning and the creative use of leftovers all in a creative and playful way.

The presentation and the lesson plan are available free of charge on our website in the „Educational material” section: https://maradeknelkul.hu/oktatasi-program/oktatasi-segedanyagok/

In addition, during the Week, we announced the Bites of Tales: Stories without Leftovers – a story writing competition – for which we are inviting tales about food waste from primary and secondary school students until the 1st of June.

Meeting this many students and introducing them to the „wasteless” approach was a truly uplifting experience for us. We look forward to reaching more schools and classes next year!

Lastly, we would like to thank the organisers of the Sustainability Week for the opportunity and professional support!
