The Educational Programme of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has expanded its educational toolkit with a new discussion-based card game addressing food safety, food quality and food waste prevention.
The Morzsapakli card set was developed primarily for school-age students and provides a structured yet playful way to explore everyday food-related topics. The cards are designed to encourage discussion, critical thinking and more conscious consideration of everyday decisions related to food.
The card set contains 60 double-sided cards, each featuring a discussion-starting question accompanied by an engaging illustration. The questions are based on everyday situations and personal experiences, covering topics such as date labelling, food safety, food habits and food waste prevention.
The cards can be used as a complementary educational activity or integrated into lessons. While primarily designed for schools and teachers, the Nébih Educational Programme also recommends the toolkit for camps, after-school activities and other community programmes.
Each question is designed to support approximately 10–15 minutes of discussion, depending on the complexity of the topic and the dynamics of the group. To support teachers and facilitators, the card set is accompanied by an online professional background guide. The guide summarises the key information related to the questions at three levels – crumb, bite and feast – allowing the content to be adapted to different age groups, educational settings and available time.
The Morzsapakli card set and the accompanying background guide are available in Hungarian on the Nébih Educational Programme website.
