The 6th Conference on Food Law was held on October 18-20, 2017 in Balatonfüred. On the three-day event, visitors could participate at 17 presentations of 12 representatives from 8 institutions, which primarily focused on themes of food law.
On the first day of the event, participants could get acquainted with European Union’s hygiene standards, food and nutrition labeling, application options of professional statements, and regulation on additives.
NFCSO’s project about food waste prevention, called Wasteless also featured on the second day of the conference. Gyula Kasza PhD (NFCSO), the program director gave a summary about the background, goals and comprehensive communication activities of the project. Also from the NFCSO, Krisztina Kovács introduced the actual changes related to the act on foodstuffs and online commerce.
On the last day of the conference, Attila Vörös, secretary of ÉFOSZ gave a lecture with the title of ’Global and domestic challenges in front of the food industry’. Anikó Tarján DVM, on behalf of the Food & Agro Consulting Kft. reported about non-regulated claims and the acquired skills regarding the themes of special quality. Dr. Tamás Szigeti, director of sales and business development at WESSLING Hungary Kft., presented about the inspection of GMOs.
