Wasteless Easter competition

Hungarian households waste 300 000 tonnes of food every year, enough to feed half a million people for a year. This huge amount of food produced and bought in excess is not only a moral and economic issue, but also one of the most significant environmental problems that requires more attention, especially during the festive season.

To mark Easter, we have launched an egg painting and poem competition entitled “Easter greening with a rhyme and painting”, which is an unusual way of raising awareness of the fact that we can all do our bit to reduce food waste by taking a little care.

A total of 16 video entries were received in the poetry category and 17 photos in the egg painting category. We were very delighted to receive such a large number of applications, as we know that the entries were a lot of work.

Of course, we also awarded prizes to the best ones. The winners of the egg painting category received Játéksziget vouchers, while the poets received Bookline book packages. Another 3 winners received special prizes: family tickets to the Budapest Zoo.

During the competition period, we reached 210361 people on Facebook and 74182 on Instagram. In addition, 3128 people visited our Facebook page and we gained 1846 new followers on Instagram.
